Briana has been immersed in the wonderful jewelry world for most of her life. William Harrison, her father, owns Harrison Casting, a small family owned lost wax casting shop located in Johnston, Rhode Island. Growing up she’s seen small separated piles of brass, bronze, and silver pieces on the tables at her parents work never knowing the bigger picture. Unfortunately for Briana she wanted nothing to do with jewelry but still immersed herself in the arts and being inspired by her parents creativity.

 

With the help of a big research project
assigned at her high school, Briana
asked a local jeweler to design and carve
a ring out of wax to be casted through
the lost wax casting process. Since she
touched the wax and metal with a file
Briana wanted to know all the ways a
tool can effect a piece of metal. Briana
graduated from Rhode Island College in
2016 with a bachelors degree in
Metalsmithing/Jewelry Design. As soon
as Briana graduated she started to form
a studio of her own in her garage in
small town Scituate, Rhode Island and
continues building up to the artist she
wants to be.
